Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.<\/strong>– Por considerarlo de vital importancia para los pacientes renales, un grupo de m\u00e9dicos ofreci\u00f3 algunas recomendaciones para aliviar o evitar los efectos del coronavirus en esta poblaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n

C<\/span><\/strong><\/span>linimed S.R.L., Productos Farmac\u00e9uticos, M\u00e9dicos y Hospitalarios, as\u00ed como los doctores Ram\u00f3n Barreiro, Gertrudis de la Cruz, Jovanna Paulino y Rafael Pi\u00f3n, explican que la COVID-19 es\u00a0altamente contagiosa, debido a que el virus puede permanecer activo hasta cuatro d\u00edas sobre superficies como el metal, la madera o el cristal, por lo que se ha propagado por todo el mundo.<\/p>\n

Producto de la debilidad de los sistemas inmunol\u00f3gicos y la alta probabilidad de diseminaci\u00f3n del virus en el lugar donde reciben el tratamiento renal, los pacientes que han padecido enfermedad renal cr\u00f3nica, como aquellos con tratamiento renal sustitutivo (Hemodi\u00e1lisis), forman un grupo de mayor riesgo de presentaci\u00f3n cl\u00ednica grave y mortalidad.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Atendiendo a esta realidad, pacientes y personal m\u00e9dico deben aplicar de forma rigurosa y permanente las medidas universales de prevenci\u00f3n y seguridad, como el lavado de manos y la limitaci\u00f3n del contacto f\u00edsico.<\/p>\n

E<\/span><\/strong><\/span>n adici\u00f3n, al llegar a la unidad de Hemodi\u00e1lisis el paciente debe ser evaluado con el control de temperatura y verificar que no tenga s\u00edntomas relacionados con el virus.<\/p>\n

Tambi\u00e9n deber\u00e1 ser recibido con la vestimenta y el equipamiento de seguridad, recibir una mascarilla y guantes para evitar contagio o propagaci\u00f3n.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

El personal m\u00e9dico debe educar al paciente acerca del virus y limitar el acceso a las unidades de hemodi\u00e1lisis de las personas que lo acompa\u00f1en.<\/p>\n
