Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.- Sembra Wine Agency launched and added to its portfolio Bodegas Comenge, a Spanish reserve certified organic by the European Union.

Inspired by Miguel Comenge, author of the first wine encyclopedia in Spain almost a century ago, the winery was founded in 1999 in the famous Golden Mile of the Ribera del Duero.

The presentation of Bodegas Comenge took place at the residence of the Spanish Ambassador to the Dominican Republic, Alejandro Abellán García, and was attended by its owner, Álvaro Comenge, who highlighted that the winery's vision is to produce wines that reflect the terroir of the family estate.

Bodegas Comenge is distinguished by its respect for the land on which its vineyards are located. They operate with a belief in innovation and excellence, while also considering sustainability and the environment., always focused on creating spaces that are good for the vines and beautiful for man, as they are also open to wine tourism due to their location in one of the most beautiful enclaves of the Ribera del Duero.

“The work in our vineyard and the winemaking processes have respected the strictest ecological regulations from the beginning; thus, we are committed to the elegance and naturalness of these wines from the heart of the Ribera,” Comenge stated.

The gathering took place among a select group of wine lovers, who enjoyed new sensory experiences with the artisanal and organic wines of Bodegas Comenge, paired with a lunch prepared by Chef Abel Almagro and featuring products from Vima Foods, alongside Chef Tita from Morirsoñando. The event was held in accordance with all required health and safety protocols, including social distancing and hygiene measures.

The introduction of Bodegas Comenge to the Dominican market was led by the founders of Sembra Wine Agency, Eduardo García Díaz and Douglas Carvajal Sánchez.
