Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.- With enthusiastic attendance and an atmosphere full of reflection, the digital media outlet TransversalRD was officially launched in the Social Security Auditorium of INTEC.
The event, organized by Contexto Comunicaciones, marked the beginning of a new platform dedicated to the critical and plural analysis of issues that impact the democratic life of the Dominican Republic.
Inaugural Panel
CAs part of its launch, TransversalRD presented the panel “Freedom of expression vs. Big Tech: control or guarantee?”, with the participation of: Persio Maldonado, Edith Febles, Sergio Carlo, Laura Castellanos, Maribel Reyes and José Martínez Brito, while Lissette Selman served as moderator.
Holding this panel as the launch of TransversalRD is not a coincidence, but a clear demonstration of our commitment to being a platform where diverse ideas converge to reflect together on the type of democracy we need to build in a country where technology advances faster than the laws and where, undoubtedly, young people are destined to be protagonists of the communication of the future.
Amada Herrera,
Director of TransversalRD
DDuring the event, Amanda Curiel, executive director of Contexto Comunicaciones, stated: “This panel marks the beginning of a journey. At Contexto Comunicaciones, we want to create spaces that strengthen not only the profession but also the community. We believe in the power of communication to transform realities, and this is just the first step.”
The meeting was supported by the Dean's Office of Social Sciences and Humanities and the School of Social Communication and Digital Media of INTEC, as well as sponsored by The Events Co Studio, RJM Companies and Solutions Web RD.
